How we keep logo QR codes scannable
- Centre placement only, snapped to the module grid and kept clear of the three corner finder patterns.
- Error correction raised to H automatically when you add a logo (you can change it, and we warn if it's too low).
- Clean background behind the logo by removing the modules underneath, with adjustable padding.
- Live scan verification with an independent decoder after every change.
Where the logo goes — and why not elsewhere
The three large squares in the corners (finder patterns), the smaller alignment squares and the dotted timing lines are how a phone finds, straightens and measures the code. Error correction can rebuild data modules, but not these structural parts. That's why logos belong in the centre, why MyQRGenerator keeps a clear margin between the logo area and the corner patterns, and why we never let a logo grow past 30% of the width.
Logo file checklist
- Square or slightly wide artwork; very tall or very wide logos end up tiny.
- Transparent PNG or a clean SVG without embedded scripts or external images.
- Strong, simple shapes — fine text in a logo is unreadable at 2–3 cm.
- At least 200 × 200 px so it stays sharp in large PNG exports.
Design tips
- Use a simple, high-contrast mark rather than a full wordmark.
- Keep the code itself dark on a light background; put the colour in the logo and eyes.
- Print larger than a plain code — a logo code with level H has more modules.
