How to make a Bitcoin QR code

  1. Copy a receiving address from your wallet (starting with bc1, 1 or 3) and paste it above.
  2. Optional: add an amount in BTC, a label (e.g. your name) and a short message.
  3. Download, then scan it with your own wallet to confirm the address matches — character by character.

What's inside the code

A BIP21 URI such as bitcoin:bc1q…?amount=0.001&label=Donation. Label and message are URL-encoded so spaces and special characters survive. The code is static: it contains no tracking and does not depend on MyQRGenerator.

Frequently asked questions

Which wallets support these codes?

BIP21 bitcoin: URIs are supported by mainstream Bitcoin wallets. The wallet reads the address and pre-fills the amount and label when present. Always test with the wallets your payers use.

Is it safe to share my Bitcoin address?

A receiving address is meant to be shared. But anyone can view the balance and history of an address on the public blockchain, so consider using a fresh address for public codes.

Should I set an amount?

Only for a fixed price. For donations and tips, leave it empty so the payer chooses. Amounts are in BTC, not satoshis or fiat.

Does MyQRGenerator check my address?

We check the format, but we can't know whether it belongs to you. Double-check it — Bitcoin payments can't be reversed.
